Take-back and Recycling

As part of our certified environmental management, we take back your end-of-life devices in accordance with legal requirements and dispose of them properly. The system components we receive are processed and recycled by our partners in compliance with applicable regulations. 

Free Return of Empty Toner Cartridges

Together with our partner LPR, we offer you free return of empty toner cartridges. The collected cartridges are processed through this take-back chain for further treatment. Suitable components are recycled as raw materials or, if technically feasible, prepared for refilling. 

Here’s how it works: 
  1. Register on the portal https://www.takeback.eu/, order a free collection box from LPR, and it will be delivered to you at no charge.
  2. The collection boxes are available in various sizes—such as 60 and 160 litres as cardboard boxes, as well as a 650-liter multi-use box.
  3. Collect your empty cartridges in the collection box and order a new box when the current one is full. When you order a new box, you receive a sticker to place on the box for pick-up. The QR code on the sticker provides all necessary information about our take-back system.
  4. LPR arranges prompt delivery of a new box and simultaneously collects your full box.
  5. LPR transports the full boxes to a disposal and recycling facility where the cartridges are shredded and processed into plastic granulate.
  6. The plastic from the returned cartridges is then processed by our partner and used as raw material for further recycling. 

Returning Printers and MFPs 

Within our take-back system, decommissioned, rented, or leased printers and MFPs can be returned. The devices we take back are handed over to our disposal partners and treated in accordance with current regulations.

Returning a Printer or MFP? Don’t Worry About Your Data! 

An important aspect when returning printers and MFPs is, of course: What happens to the data on the integrated hard drive? Before a device is passed on to third parties, any stored sensitive or personal data must be securely deleted or the data carrier appropriately processed in line with legal data protection requirements.
You have two options: 
  1. You perform the data deletion yourself, after which we will take over further handling of the device.
  2. We can erase your data for you for an additional fee, and then proceed with processing the device.
